I'm Not Sure about CA; but you should plead Not Guilty and hope the cop does not show up for court (case dismissed). If he does talk to him and you will get a reduced fine and no points and no increase to insurance. Have fun opening all of those letters form lawyers that say they can get you out of trouble. If you have the 1-2 hours go to court. If this is your first offense, and you act with respect in the court room- you will most likely get everything reduced. You have nothing to loose. DO NOT PLEAD GUILTY if you do not have to.

in ohio, you are required to stop if youre turning right on red. no exceptions. yes, a lot of lights allow turns on red, but if you dont come to a complete stop you'll get a ticket (if a cop sees you) the ticket might be waiverable. check the back of the ticket. read the front. if it is waiverable, pay the fine and learn your lesson. or just go to court. its only a couple points that wil disappear. your insurance wont go up. just chill i know this i've had 5 and still have my L's.

Typically, the fines for this is the same as it would be if you ran the red light outright or otherwise "failing to yeild the right-of-way," if a collision were involved. Usually, the fine for which you are mentioning is a few hundred dollars with $120 being the typical. However, it sounds like he was giving you a break. If he wanted to, he may have tried to charge you with reckless driving, the penalties for which are fines $145-$1000 and/or 5-90 days in jail. Thus presumably, the fine for the offense you are speaking of would be at maximum $145

You have to call the court to find out the fee for the ticket. If you go to school then the points will not be assigned to your license. If you fight it or pay the fine, then you will have points.

You're lucky you haven't had an accident rolling through reds to turn right!

In Georgia you can right turn on red(with caution). At other red lights and you don't come to a complete stop it is called a California stop.!!!!
