Leave it alone and let it do what it was meant to... Protect the raw skin underneath

You are NOT supposed to lance the blister as the skin itself is the best covering for it. If it pops spontaneously, carefully drain out the fluid, wash it with soap and warm water, dry by patting with a clean towel, apply bacitracin or neosporin and a large bandaid that will cover it completely - then, do not let the bandaid get dirty - cover it with a clean white cotton sock. Try very hard not to let anything rub on the blister until it heals. If you notice any kind of discharge or swelling or heat, you may have an infection for which you would need antibiotics from a physician. DO change the dressing daily as above.

Alright...depends on the size and where its at. If its big or somewhere that it rubs (foot, etc.) cut a doughnut out oof moleskin (ask at the pharmacy, theyll know) and put the doughnut around it and leave it. Popping = bad. Bandaid=bad. Dont cover blisters or put anything on them, makes em worse. Popping leads to more pain and infection. Moleskin is by far the best way to go, or if its somewhere else that doesnt require that much protecting, just leave it and if it pops before its healed, then put a band aid on it.

you actually shouldn't pop the blister b/c the fluid inside it is the body's way of protecting the environment underneath it from getting infected

if the blister is located in a spot where it's rubbing against other toes or against your sock causing pain when you walk then popping it might be necessary.

if you must pop it-use a needle but dip it in rubbing alcohol first to sterilize it. pop the blister at it's base (the bottom) in a few different places and then wash it in warm water with mild soap (dove or ivory). apply some neosporin to it and cover it with a bandaid or gauze wrap to protect it from infection.

i would only wear covered shoes until the blister heals-if you wear sandals or flip-flops, you leave it more open to getting infected.

i had a really big blister on my toe one day so my dad got a towel and put some broken up bits of bread in it, then soaked it in hot but not to hot milk with some sugar and then popped my blister and put the towel on, i left it on for 2 hrs and it absorbed all the crap and got better

You can go to CVS or the grocery store and get the blister bandaids. This actually helps them from hurting when you walk as well, In a few days it will go away so you don't have to pop it and go through that pain :-)

You should NEVER pop a blister

This is because you are putting yourself at risk of infection and believe me, thats far worse than having a blister.

If you're residing in England, I suggest you go to a walk in center and ask them what to do. They may possibly drain it for you under controlled and aceptic area.

If, however you're not in England, I suggest a trip to see your local practice nurse. She will also be able to drain it for you.

But please please don't pop it yourself. Especially with a sewing needle.

you shouldn't deroof a blister ideally but this is the real world and i'm sure you probably already have, its so satisfying isn't it? try to keep the area clean and dry and covered witha dry dressing to reduce the risk of infection.

I actually heard not to put a bandaid on it becasue you want it to dry out. Pop it and then sleep on it :)
