Hi Shirley,
I am so sorry to hear that you suffer with gall stones also because that is an awful problem to have and to have to deal with. My mom and I had gall stones and we both had to have surgery. Yeah, it's hereditary. I had the laparascopic surgery which wasn't too bad. They put you to sleep and insert four small holes or incisions in your stomach/belly. Two are placed on the right of the navel, one in or below the navel and the other one is above the navel. Then they insert a camera and some object to cut/deflate the gallbladder. Then they take it out. Now this is what they do if they have to take the gallbladder out. This is basically what happened to me because my whole gallbladder had to be removed. I don't have those problems now like I did. At one time I suffered with chronic stomach, heartburn, indigestion, and similar pains. Everytime I ate, mostly, there was a problem. It was really awful. But the doctors ran a series of test on me until they found the gall stones. It's been some years ago since I've had my surgery so I don't know if they've came up with new medicines and terminology to prevent having surgery. If they have, maybe you do need to try the medicines out and see if that works. I think my gallbladder was messed up so bad until permanently removing it was the only option. But you can live without a gallbladder. Hey, I would suggest you look up some information on the internet. There is a good health site you can go to and ask for help concerning different medical problems that you're having but I can't remember the name of the site. Shirley, I'm sorry and I hope that I have been some help to you. I also hope you get better. My prayers are with you, Shirley. P. S. I'm a Shirley too.

For one thing, your gall bladder doesn't control the acid in your stomach, it doesn't even empty into your stomach. Your gall bladder controls the amount of bile, which is secreted by the liver, enters your small intestine. It does this for two purposes: first, it raises the pH of the stuff exiting the stomach so it isn't so hard on the mucosa lining of your intestings, and second, it acts as an emulsifer for fats (meaning it helps break them down so all the fat doesn't just separate from the watery stuff). I had one serious attack and I literally thought I was going to die. I had it hacked out a day later. If this has been going on for 11 years, that means that is probably something functionally wrong with your gallbladder and it isn't worth conserving. GET IT REMOVED!!! Plus, if you keep having stones, they can block the duct to the small intesting that also carries enzymes out of the pancreas. This can cause chronic pancreatic failure or even diabetes. Don't mess with it and just remove it. Takes 35 minutes and you can eat (almost) normally again in a week.

The best thing I ever did was have mine out. I suffered on and off for 7 years before they even diagnosed my problem. It was finally diagnosed when I had an all out gall bladder attack. Very painful. Mine was full of stones as well. The operation was one over night in the hospital. It was done with a laproscope. So no big incision. By now it's probably an outpatient surgery it was so easy. As soon as it was gone all the symptoms went with it. There isn't a special diet associated with it. I eat what I want. They used to think you had to be careful about what you ate but they've learned differently as medicine has progressed. I'm so happy I did it. It heals very quickly. The one thing I do know, there is no herbal remedey that works and I'm very big on taking vitamins and herbs. I wish you the best in whatever you decide.

although the gall bladder does have it benefits(it controls the acid in the stomache) gall stones that are removed are more prone to come back I had mine out because of recurring stones and now I'm pain free although I still get the heartburn and can't have the spicy foods I used to enjoy I couldn't enjoy them with constant pain from the gall stones anyway so I still feel better off without it. It's an outpatient surgery now and if it gets really bad you may have to get it out the old fashioned way a long cut because they can get infected and swell pretty bad. Good Luck

The worst thing I have ever done with my body was to have my gall bladder cut out at the age of 27. It was enormously painful after the op, and I stayed scarred for life. Liver and gall bladders can be flushed out of stones. Have a look at my method on the Dhaxem website and if you would like my help, get in touch.

I had gallstones. They removed my gallbladder in 1994.
Removing the gallbladder is the only way to get rid of gallstones completely. If you keep the gallbladder, the stones will keep coming back and you will keep getting sicker.

Get your gallbladder removed. It's a simple, endoscopic procedure. Things will only get worse if you don't. I don't know how you can stand having them for 11 years!

I had gallbladder attacks over a period of six months. Each one was worse the the last.

Gallbladder attacks are the worst thing you can go through and I would never want to go through my last one again.

I started have gallstones and pains around 1990. I had them intermittently for about four years, they stopped in about 1994, but I still had soreness, but not excruciating pain.
Last August I got excruciating pain, fever, vomitting, and a just plain sick all over feeling, so I had to go to the hospital. Had my gallbladder removed with a laproscopy surgery. It was very uncomplicated, and healed quite quickly.
I had three small openings which were closed with staples, and an incision about two inches long that closed within two weeks.
I would suggest the laproscopy.

Have you ever considered doing a home remedy for a gallbladder flush. This really works without surgery. You can do this at home....the key is to follow it exactly. So many people do this. Here's the link

Maybe you would consider an herbal treatment plan. Start with this website then check out others. Do your research and find out all you can before you decide what you want to do. Try the herbs before you take the radical step toward surgery. Try to talk with an herbalist. If it doesn't work out you can always go to the surgery.
