Actually, neither came first. First there was the ancient chickosaur, a cross between a chicken and a crocodile that fed on humans who asked philosophy questions created by bored professors who couldn't get a job in the real world.

The egg came first. Chickens are a bird and evolved from dinosaurs. therefor the egg came first.
