In a pamphlet titled "Law and Authority", the Russian anarchist, Peter Kropotkin, answers your question by stating that "the historical hero of the schoolroom is the man who obeys the law, and defends it against rebels." However, since those who make the laws have limitations, your efforts of defending all of those laws may in fact have some negative effects on you and/or others.
Seeing that you've asked this question in the Singles & Dating section, I assume that you're interested in becoming a hero to perhaps attract somebody's attention. Let me just state that a hero has a duty--a duty to die for the law whenever necessary. This is a tremendous sacrifice, and only a person who shows unselfish love (i.e. a person who's not thinking too much about oneself and about achieving fame) would want to become a hero. If you don't believe me, just remember all those firefighters and police officers that died during the terrorist attacks in 9/11/01. They are remembered as heroes, but they paid a high price for their "fame." Are you willing to pay such a price to become a hero?

You give your own life so that others may live. You do this consciously, not by accident, or you risk your life to save another knowing that you may have to lose yours. And that's that..(common definition, of course, today the word is used so often that it has lost it's unique importance, almost to the point of being meaningless. Too bad. ..R

Be true to yourself.
Be the best person you can be. (that is 24/7 and 365 days a year).
Don't compromise yourself, your values or your moral code.
Forgive yourself and others.
Find a religion and stand by it if it makes sense as a moral compass, adopt the best parts of it in that case.
In two words BE GOOD.
