are you free feeding---i hope not
2 meals a day
one am one pm
consistant times everyday
if he wont eat in the am after 10-15mins take food up
then in the pm should be hungry
do the same in the pm leave down 10-15 mins then take up
if he has not eaten in 2 days then it would be wise to get to a vet.
if vomit occurs= Vet ASAP

My GSD has ALWAYS been a finicky eater and she is 10 yrs old ! When she is hungry...she lets me know by scratching at her food bag. I feed her twice a day and leave it out, she eats when she gets hungry. Some days she acts like she is starving so I will give here a small portion to munch on. No people food. She eats 1 scoop dry mixed w/half can of moist. ( I have 2 dogs) when I give her the snack I just give her dry and she will gobble that up. Being she is the alpha, the other dog will not eat her food, so I know she is eating. Every dog is different, but other GSD owners I know say the same thing, some days they act like they haven't eaten in years and some days they act like food is not even a passing thought. Good luck and enjoy the pup. Remember the first year is when they get their height and the second year is when they put on weight, at least in this breed.

A GSD at 10 months should be eating you outta house n home...LOTS of food at that age..He may have parasites, or an illness..It is NOT normal behavior or just being picky..Please see that the vet gives him a good physical..

Had the exact same problem.Upsetting is'nt it?
My gsd started getting picky at 12 weeks.Food he came from breeder with sat in bowl for over a week UNTOUCHED.
I mixed homemade gravy with it and he'd it it one day.Next he would'nt.I mixed can dog food with it and again one day he'd eat the next not.
Mixed can cat food with it with good results for awhile.Mixed mac-n-cheese with it with good result-again-for awhile.I sat in floor with him spoon feeding him with very good result. And when buying canned food to mix with dry got to be too expensive we sat on the sofa in front of the T.V.while I hand fed him dry food with VERY good results for well over 2 yrs.
I switched food several times and finally bought a bag of Nutro. He'll eat it dry with nothing mixed in it and I don't need to hand feed anymore but I know he enjoyed the extra attention.
I have a friend with a lab who won't eat unless someone sits in the floor with him while he does.
She thinks it's because he's afraid no one will notice he's eaten and will soon need to go out to potty. And she may be right as her household is always in chaos.
Try any of the above also try putting a little milk or cottage cheese in his food but don't leave it set for too long.
Good luck.

first i would take him to a different vet. he could be seriously sick, or be allergic to beef, corn,etc.. a dog that is not eating has something wrong with it. maybe he is in pain. i would get a second opinion this is a very serious problem. he could have ingested an object that is stuck in his stomach or intestines. take him to the vet, one that has alot of experience. also make sure that ou are feeding him a high quality food, read the ingredients. dont buy anything with corn in the first couple ingredients. no nutritional value, it goes right through them like it does us. the first ingredient should be chicken or turkey or beef or another meat, not by products as the main ingredient,. iams, purina proplan, solid gold, nutro, natural balance are all good food.

How long has this gone on?
Are you the only one who feeds him?
Does he have access to other food?
We don't have enough info but my guess would be he is getting food elsewhere or you are giving in and feeding him people food.
If so, don't let him run around off leash, cut out the people food and then if he doesn't eat take him to the vet.

I have a puppy that is almost 6 months old and she is also picky. all she will eat is the hollistic food which is all natural. try some eagle pack hollistic. you can get it at a pet store. you may have to call around to find it. it can be expensive but worth it.

This is serious and you should see a vet. It could be any number of illnesses, or nothing at all but you don't want to take any chances when it comes to health.
