We need to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. It helps in the excretion of our waste products in the body. Water plays an important role in many diseases. If you are having cough, colds or fever, increase your water intake, it helps. It you have Urinary Tract Intection, aside from the antibiotics & proper hygiene, we need to drink a lot of water.
Sodas on the other hand is needed once in a while . However, if you are hungry and drink sodas, it might cause gastric irritation. For the diabetics, it is better to take water, however, if you cant really resist it, then diet sodas can do. Sodas, can increase your sugar, cholesterol. If you are dieting it is better to avoid softdrinks.
I prefer water most of the time, but if the food is spicy or for example am eating pizzas, tacos, then I would go for sodas, but that will be once in a while.

Soft drinks are just empty calories, gives you nothing but extra sugar, sodium, etc.. things u don't need. Diet soft drinks are not good for you either, with all the additives. My family never had soda in the house when I was growing up so I never developed a soda habit. Although recently at work once in a while when I have a lot of assignments to finish, I feel like grabbing a Coke cuz I want something sweet. Usually, I don't like the taste of plain water, so I usually drink iced tea instead of water.

Yes. Drinking 1 can of soda a day can add an additional 15 lbs a year to your body. There was an article on yahoo a few weeks ago. Soda is really bad for you, but it's so good with greasy food. Soda is filled with sugar and lots of empty calories. Water is always best.

Of course it's bad for everyone. For women & I believe men also, it eats away at our bones, takes away the calcium. If it can eat a nail, it only stands to reason it will eat at the bones in our body and teeth. I personally prefere water because I know I can live without soda, and water is a must. The really sad part is, only 1% of the water in the entire world, is actually drinkable without being filtered first. Man has done that to himself. So here we are filtering what we need to survive.....sad. And I suppose next we'll be filtering the "filtered water, and so on. Did that answer your question? .....a little?

You ever get that email where it says that if you get a raw steak and put it in a bowl then pour coke over it..in a day or two, the cola starts to eat away at the meat. Supposedly this is what happens to your insides. I like soda more than water (sorry to admit) but I prefer "white" or "clear" soda over Coke...like Sprite or Sierra Mist.

Water with a slice of lemon please
Drinking coke or any other soft drink in excess is certainly bad for you.
Nothing better than a glass of cold water
(did you know that coke will remove grease stains from your driveway;think what it does to your tummy)

Of course drinking coke everyday is bad for you. It has tons of sugar in it. Thats why most of America is so fat and when people try to lose weight thats usually one of the first things they quit. Now having one once and a while isn't so bad.

I stopped drinking soda a little while ago and I feel better, my acne cleared up and my face is clear and smooth. If I pick up a soda I'll get pimples back so I stick to water and Lemonade.

I prefer water.
Drinking coke every day is bad for you.
Empty calories.
Plus you can become addicted to it (seriously! my friend was addicted to it for a while and would get jittery whenever she went too long w/out any soda).
And it's no good for your teeth.
