Both honey and Lime Juice are are natural medicines for all ailments and they have whole lot of benefits. You can take honey daily one tablespoonful directly with out mixing any thing just after brushing. Lime juice can also be taken mixed with lukewarm water adding salt to taste. these will help you to reduce some weight. But simultaneously exercises are also required.
I have no idea of mixing Honey and lime juice. I don't think there should be any chemical reaction, as only Lime has chemical properties. You can try.

I have never heard of that mix before. I would get sick by just the smell. But I have heard of the grapefruit diet working for some ppl.Or the south beach diet.
But if you watch what you eat. Cut out pop and candy and chips out. ( Junk Food) And workout in some way. Even if it is just for a walk everyday. Will help take it off.

Eat less. Exercise more.
