I am a 22/m/white. I am a sr in college grad in may and we are having a career fair next week at school. I was wanting to know, is it ok to wear small round gold ball studs? I want to look professional, but my earrings are a part of me. I normally wear square diamond studs but I know that is too much. I was wondering about the small ball studs. I am a psych major and want to be a juve delinq counselor. Many people have told me that employeers are ok with guys wearing earrings as long as they are subtle like the ones I am talking about. I wasn't sure. I don't think it should be that big of a deal. I have a professional, mature look. However, I like to be myself and express myself as well. A job isn't your identity. What do you think?? I am torn because I am not sure if the small ball studs are too much. I don't think they are, but that's me.

I think a small ball, a small hoop or a diamond of any shape would still keep it professional and classy. In your profession I see women wearing a lot of big colorful ethnic jewelry. I'm not that bombastic but I do wear chandelier earrings and a medium hoop. Hope it helps!! Have fun at the career fair!

If your going on an interview or to a job fair, it's best not to wear the earring. However, once your hired, it's okay. But only the small studs earrings.

Being a psych major you should know that most people judge others on looks and attire. You may want to forgo the earrings for the career fair and let your professionalism shine.... then after you land your dream position put those diamond studs back in and enjoy your new position!!!!!!

This is one of those questions where if you have to ask, the answer is no.

Don't wear the earring. You already know that or you wouldn't have had to ask.

AFTER you get the job, then scope out the situation to determine whether the earring is ok.

Nope... don't wear either.
Wear your earring on your personal time... esp. if you are going to be a juve counselor.

Heck... I would never send my kids to a counselor wearing an earring.... next thing my kids will want one too saying if their conselor has one, it is ok for them to have one!

They should not discriminat...but they might depending on then company, and even more, depending on the interviewer...I might go to the interview with no earrings and see how much you like the job...and then ask their policy on men wearing earrings...That way you will not be prejudged by the way you look

If you can't make a decission on your own about earrings..how do you expect anyone to give you a job.

Pick one! It doesnt matter. You are not being hired by your earrings.you are being hired on your capabilities...stop acting like a woman and go get your job!!!!

My goodness! Are you wanting to get hired? Don't wear anything until you get what it is you are looking for. After you get the job or opportunity you are looking for--then express yourself in anyway you damn well feel!
Good Luck!
