I guess it all depends on how old you are and in whose home you're living. If you're over 21 and living in your own residence, go nuts. If you're under 21 and/or living in your mother's home, I would suggest not.

how old are you, and what color are you planning on dying it?
I'm all for personal expression and I kind of went behind my parents back and cut my hair all crazy, but I didn't start dying my hair until I was 20. Honestly it's really bad for your hair. You're gonna spend a lot of time and money afterwards fixing the damage. Trust me.
Unless you plan on going to somewhere like Toni & Guy and fronting about $70 to have it done professionally with quality products, I would stick with styling your hair or your clothes to go with who you are. You could also try spray on hair dyes. They wash right out, but they're definitely fun.

She could shave your hair off, or make you color it back. I wouldn't suggest doing anything 'anyways' that your mom doesn't want you to do. What she tells you to do (and NOT do), is what she thinks (or KNOWS) is for your own good! But, as long as you don't want to dye it rainbow-colored, etc., maybe you can talk calmly to her about it, and offer to pay half the cost of having a professional do it, and maybe she'll come around. Tell your mom that as long as you're getting good grades and are not out doing anything wrong (drugs, etc.), and as long as your school doesn't have an objection to the color you want to color it (i.e. red, black, brown), then it shouldn't matter so much if you color your hair or not. Good luck!

I'm a mom so I can only tell tell you what happened with my daughter, she and her girlfriend wanted to do just what you are planning to do, the day before they were about to go she told me her plan, her friend ended up doing it with horrible results, my daughter and I went to a shop that I knew did good work, plus she got it on my bill. P>S> she is a model for victoria's secret and all parties happy. Don't you in the long run really know that your mom has great taste---well she raised you!
Good Luck! and remember she is your friend for life! Take Care

Well there must be a reson why she wont let you do it. Maybe you are to young to do that. Or maybe you have really nice hair and doesnt want you to ruin it. And depending on how your mom is if you dye she might make you shave your head bald.

She can take you to the salon and ask them to fix it. That will cost her about $200. So then I am predicting that the next time you want something she will say "no" again. It is a vicious cycle you don't want to be on.
Ease her into the idea by asking for just a couple of natural highlights around the face.

1) No. Doing so would show that you have no respect for your mother. One day you'll be grown up and out of the house and you can do whatever you want with your hair.
2) She can give you a rotten haircut and make you wish you were bald (or pay a couple of big strong guys to do it). I'd donate to the cause ;-)

Bet she can't do anything once it is done, but don't you think you need to respect her views. And how old are you ? If she is providing for you then I feel you need to listen to her and respect her judgement. Once you are independent and have a life of your own then do as you please.
Remember this is your mother you are talking about on yahoo.

no when you move out maybe but not now you would get in so much trouble then just think what could happen she would take so many privileges away and would let you do any thing cool or special for a while because sh doesn't trust you of your actions on what you might do or get if she wasn't there

Well speaking from a moms point of view, if one of my kids were to go behind my back and disobey me like that, honestly I'd shave their head. I am not a strict parent, but in my home I am the parent and I know what's best for my kids. I wouldn't do it because they changed their hair color, I'd do it because they were disobedient. Actually I've offered one of my kids a fun hair color, he was the one who looked at me like I was stupid. Good luck, but listen to your parents.
