A dogs heat is about 3 weeks. She will not stay in heat because she is around another dog. Expect her to come in every 6 months unless you get her fixed. Getting her fixed stops all heats and heat related issues (bleeding and strange males hanging around your house).

bitches stay in heat for 3 weeks, and will stand to mate on the middle 7 -10 days. If you arent a breeder you should have her spayed. Many communities offer a free nuter clinic - see fi you can find one

I have dachshunds too. Aren't they great? It takes 3 weeks before your dog will no longer be in heat. The first week comes the blood, the last week is when she will allow the males to get her pregnant. Keep a close eye on her that last week.

If she's anything like my palms I think they stay in heat for about 10 days after they stop bleeding

2 weeks but she will go back into heat shortly after. Breeding isn't fun. Bit(hes are nasty, puppies are filthy. Poop, blood and urine. Yuch. Think about it. A breeding bit(h is not a good family pet.
