There are drugs, which you should use. Spending time around cats will decrease your allergy symptoms as your body gets used to it. If you get a cat you should groom once a week and a bathe them once a month, and install a hepa filtration system (or better) if you have central heating, or place indavidual air filtration ystems in the rooms you use most. Vacuming helps a lot and I mean vacum everything!

I'm allergic to cats as well. I own two short haired tabby cats. I must have developed a tolerance to them because they do not bother me as much as they used to. My cat allergy gets worse when my outdoor allergies kick in (spring and fall mostly)... I've never taken any meds for my allergy, but you may need to. Possibly see your doctor about what type would be best for you?
Also, some cats' hair is worse than others. As I said, I can tolerate my tabby's fur, but if I go to visit my mom's and her persians sit on me for more than 10 minutes or so OR if I pet them then touch my face, I'm miserable for the rest of the night. Persian hair is finer than tabby and floats in the air much easier. For allergies, a short hair cat may be the way for you to go, just my opinion and experience.
Vaccuuming every day helps, ALWAYS wash your hands after touching the cat and DO NOT touch your eyes until you do so... brush the cat frequently to rid them of excess fur... Lint brushes are AWESOME for hair on furniture and clothes (I like the double sided ones, not the sticky paper kind)... Hope this info helps and you can enjoy companionship of the feline persuasion :-)

You can always take some kind of meds for animal allergies. Don't you watch the commercials? How about getting an hairless cat? Yes, they're ugly. But no nose boogies!!

Those are the exact same symtoms that I had toward my cat.
The solution:
---brush cat daily (use a dog flea and tick remover comb)
---give cat a bath weekly (using dander removing shampoo)
---if allergies persist, take a benadryl (these pills work so well!)
---dust and vaccum house on a regular basis
i have hardly had any allergies to my cat since i started brushing and bathing her! hope this helps!

Siberians cost interior the $2,000 selection. a lots much less annoying thank you to 'examine' is to grant your domicile as a foster for a cat or kitten. call the community preserve and ask to fulfill up as a foster domicile, they'll have you ever are taking one cat to socialise and carry mutually as they wait to have a cage open up for them. You get the cat for a quick time, have the alternative of adopting them in case you hit upon there is not lots of an allergic reaction undertaking, and in case you are able to not medically save a cat, the cat is going lower back to the preserve once you turn it over to them or they ask for it lower back. Your physician ought to look into the newer drugs for you, you additionally can attempt the allergic reaction photographs. yet i in my view propose a quick term trial like this, so which you have the superb danger of not having to have the cat re-homed.

I had the same symptoms and I took in a stray about 7 months ago. I took benadryl for the first month or two and give her baths and brush her on a regular basis. Now all of my symptoms are gone!!
