Yes, and when time allows, I go down the entire list of answers to a question,and give thumbs up to all well thought out opinions, even if I do not agree, whether it is my question, or someone else's.. I save the thumbs down for answers giving the wrong info, or answers that are just an insult, no real content, just plain mean ones.
I wish everyone would take the time to give thumbs up or down on answers! .

I do. I get thumbs down for them, too. Which is annoying, although in some cases I expect it, as for example when I give an anti-religious answer to a question in the religion forum. And I also award thumbs down for insulting and petty answers -- and am not surprised when someone awards me one for one of my insulting and petty answers.

I usually thumbs down for stupid answers and thumbs up for the people who actually read the question. then I'll best answer for the ones who actually put real thought into the answer they give. I really dont care if someoe agrees with me or not I do care that they put some effort into their response.

most people post questions in hopes of getting a intelligent answer. so yes thumbs up. The insulters are just miserable people and want others to be miserable too.

Yes, as long as its an intelligent answer. i dont have to agree with it. i do give thumbs down for insultig answers even if i agree with them too because they dont do much for the argument and distort other peoples perceptions of the way people on the opposite side of the argument think.

I give thumbs-up to answers that are well thought out AND agree with me.
I give thumbs-down to petty answers, whether the person agrees with me or not.
As for the intelligent answers from other viewpoints, I don't give them thumbs-up OR thumbs-down.

YUP! We all learn from the intellignet well thought out answer. It's great to see many answer from other people because we get to see how many wise people out there and how many pathetic answer are there. Yahoo! Answers is awesome. It really allow people to open up to others and see that we all sometimes have the same question but never dare to ask until now.~_^

If I like the question, I always give it a thumbs UP, just like I did on yours. I always rate the answers too.
