I don't know who I truely am, and I'm tired of being something I'm not. what do I do, I want control of my own life.

Things I learned late in life. The IN crowd is usually pretty sick. If I try to be something I am not, then I am faking it. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I don't give a damn what others think: that is their problem, not mine. I am worth no more nor any less than anyone else. I am uniquely me.

If you only knew what is going on in other people's heads, you would see you are not alone. The most popular girl in class just might be trying to fit in cause she doesn't feel she belongs. I am not making that up.

In the end, we need to be true to ourselves; most of us do not have a clue what that means. Go see a therapist; there is no shame in admitting you have a problem. The shame would be if you ruin your life over it. You are a worthwhile person. How do I know? I once felt I was worthless, out of it, weird, without friends, everything was my fault, nobody could like me ad nauseum..Today my weirdness is OK because I say it is. I am a worthwhile person who was never a bad person - sometimes not quite right in the head, but not bad. Nobody is better than anyone else.

Please seek help; I wasted over 20 years of my life before I did. God bless you.

Give yourself a break...your 17. You should be trying to figure out whats going on and where your life is leading. You said your tired of being what your not...then change!..Your allowed to do that...especially at your age and guess what.....it could be a ton of fun and exactly what you need. I have a 17 year old daughter and she has said, I swear, the exact same thing...you are not alone....you have all of us to help!

A grerat man once said, "Don't worry about what others think of you, because you'd be surprised at how little they do it/"
Most people are busy dealling with issues in their own lives.
Get over being important.
Now, do you have medical or psychological help?
Get that right away.
Get checked for depression or another underlying cause.
Learn all you can.
Be informed.
Happiness is learned, not earned.
Take Care!

You are so cool. You have just told a bunch of people you don't know your biggest insecurity. I bet you're a follower in the "IN" crowd, you make fun of the "LOSERS" but you secretly feel bad about it because you know that they are people too. By following the IN crowd you are a fake, a lemming. Go hang with the losers (not the dopers), they're real and they know who they are. They don't try to be like everyone else, they don't worry so much about what others think, they're just there doing their thing. Try it, you'll find yourself and feel good about it too. You will even realize that the real losers are the one in the IN crowd. Good luck!

at just 17, you are in your adolescence.

just move on. okay what you are going to do after knowing what you are ?? Just do that without knowing what you are.

your entry to this planet was not in your hands and similarly your exit is predetermined by almighty.

why there is a need to know what we are, where we came from, where we are going to. Not only you, but not a single person on this earth know this.............So don't worry you are just normal.

Atleast you are tired of being something as you said. That means you are aware that you are that "something".

I don't think you need to control your life. Just live and enjoy the life as it comes to you. Destiny is not in your hands.

good luck

on the face of it what you need is positive feedback....just someone giving you praise and encouragement.
that can be difficult to obtain unless you have caring parents nearby.
you can sometimes get positive feedback by giving of yourself to other people, such as by volunteer work.
other than that just try to do things that interest you, such as a sport or hobby, and apply yourself to whatever you do.
you shouldn't watch a lot of TV, reading is better.

hmm i dont know what to say that would change the way you look at things. it is hard to live your life with out worrying what other people think of you isnt it? cause theres always someone out there who has something to say, but if you try your best to not think of them, things will be alot easier. i used to always think like that, and it made everyday so nerve racking. you just gotta quit worrying and BE YOURSELF. find people who like you for you. when you do that maybe itll be easier to forget all those other people that dont matter. im only 17 and a few years ago i felt just like that. tryna be someone i wasnt. just tryin to fit in even when it felt so uncomfortable doing it. take my advice and maybe things will change for you, okay? hope i helped you a little

Most people have that feeling at some time if they have any brains.

Also there is a place inside of all of us where we are alone in being us. No one else can feel the same as I do in the same situation. We all come from different lives and in our uniqueness we are along. try helping someone else who is feeling lonely and needing some affirmation from you.

God Bless You, ;-)

Good news! You ARE in control of your life. Everything you do is a choice and if you so desire, you can actually CHOOSE not to care what others think of you. Your opinion of you matters more than what anyone else thinks so fake it til you make it! Meaning that if you want to be a confident, self-loving individual, then live and act as though you are and soon that is who you'll be. Its that simple. Don't rule out God for helping you either. You'd be AMAZED at what He can do in your life.... Good luck!

a lot of people go through life pretending to be something they're not, because they care bout what people think. you have to be true to yourself too, or as you are finding out, you won't be happy with yourself. you can't please everyone. you don't say if it's family or just people in general you are trying to look a certain way for, but if it's strangers or people in general, you know alot of people aren't worth impressing anyway. who are they to judge who you are, you are the best judge of you. be happy in who you are and if others don't like it, that's okay because they are not perfect either, and may be pretending to be someone they're not also. if it's friends or family, well they should love you for who you are anyway. hope this helps!
