Who told you that? From what I have noticed while reading the nutritional information on the back of most granola bars they seem to have a high amount of fat. You need to educate yourself about the nutritional values of different foods and how many calories you need to consume per day and then try to meet your personal nutritional needs. If you exceed these needs you will continue to gain weight. If you meet the needs and exercise you will loose weight...that is all there is to maintaining your ideal weight.

Most granola bars on the market are fatty and loaded with sugar. Eaten instead of meals, they would probably make you lose weight but you would feel terrible.

Here's the simple truth about losing weight - burn more calories than you eat. A good target for a woman is around 1400 calories a day. If you want to eat all of your calories in granola bars, marshmallows, olive oil, whatever, just make sure it is LESS than how much you're burning and you'll lose. However, enduring weight loss is best achieved by changes in lifestyle, not crash dieting, so invest some time in researching nutrition and start hitting the gym.

NO! Granola bars can be included in a balanced diet, but do not help you lose weight. They are better than eating a candybar, but many have added sugar and have chocolate or peanutbutter in them which add to the calorie count. They have nothing in them that "help" you lose weight!

I feel most of them are full of fat and sugary type carbs....I feel Kashi makes a few good ones. You are better off making your own trail type mix. There are many high protein bars with low carb content. A healthy balanced food plan and exercise plan is always the answer.
