The people that are telling you to shower in the morning are correct.
If you are going to bed with wet hair you could be trapping moisture at the scalp and you will get a musty or sour smell. No amount of perfume or changing products will help.

Hmmm! Why not try changing shampoos? Try choosing one for your specific hair type. If you have oily hair, that may be the problem. Pick a shampoo for oily hair and try washing your hair in the morning. Remember too that you have to rinse out you conditioner really well (try not to use a lot too).
I hope that works. Good luck with it. I can imagine that you are feeling mortified! because of this. Don't worry okay, one of the answers will work okay?

First off...everytime you shampoo you should condition. Are you drying your hair when you get out of the shower. Sleeping on wet hair and not drying it can cause a mildewy smell.

Try a different shampoo. If you have like a little sis or bro then maybe they put something that stinks in your shampoo or conditioner.

Perhaps your not rinsing the products out completely?
Try changing your shampoo, or washing every other day instead of everyday.
If it doesnt go away, I'd see a doctor.

Change your conditioner. Also, only condition your hair every other day and see if that helps. Good Luck!
