But heres the thing i called him tonight to tell him that i thought i was going to go to a firends house and hang out with him and a few friends for his birthday. Well he just had a holly **** fit on me and started calling this guy, threatening him and making a huge deal out of something so small. I have had trouble in the past with him accepting that i do have other guy friends and thats not going to change but i thought that things had changed. Please someone, what should i do? My friend is really upset that he is doing this and i dont know how i should handle this situation?

Tell him to grow the f*** up! and realize that you are perfectly capable of choosing WHO you care to talk to/spend time with and you will continue to do so with or without his approval!
He'll respect you much more for it, or he'll move on to someone he CAN control. The choice is yours...but I must ask, how did he get the # of the person you were going to go with in the first place? I certainly hope you aren't playing jealousy games with "long distance", that could backfire and get really ugly.

He sounds possessive and you need to run not walk in the other direction because if he can do and talk like that to a friend of yours he could do worse to you. Get out of that relationship.
