I don't know if there's any truth behind the whole put an eggyolk and honey on your head, or paprika etc. I'm only 16 and this hair loss is really bugging me...I have talked to a dematologist already, and it's not some weird hair disease, just solid alopecia areata (i think it's called) or male pattern baldness. It really sucks to have it this young, but I guess there's not much I can do. If these herbal remedies really work that would be a lifesaver. I guess there's not much to lose, but some of the remedies require vigourous massaging which seems to pull out more hair. I am too young to go on propecia or rogaine, at least thats what the dermo says. Anyone know about this subject? Past experience positive or negative would be greatly appreciated. Even prolonging the inevitable is still better than sitting back and watching the onslaught.

actually i guess rogaine doesn't have an age limit, but I don't know if i want to spend that much money on an unsure thing. Mainly, i just don't want to talk to my parents about it and confront it. I know its weak, but.....its tough

Hm I don't know about an age limit on Rogaine. I would say look into it again and use it if it is okay. The sooner you start the less hair you'll lose, so I don't understand why they would say that. The massaging you're talking about is very essential no matter what route you go. It promotes blood circulation in your scalp and that will help hair grow. Similarly someone who taps their nails (we all know that person eessh), their nails grow much faster than the rest of us. Again due to circulation. Another stylist in my salon often recommends a product called Nioxin. I don't know much about it first hand, but many of her clients have had success with it. It might be worth a shot. I believe you can purchase that in any Trade Secret or other mall salons. I believe it has a few products that you use in steps, so I suppose look into that too. Good luck, and in my opinion, if you can't bring it back, shave it off. Don't let it get in between. It is much more becoming. I think most girls agree that it is a good look anyway.

I think your best option is to shave it all off. I started losing my hair at 17 (I'm 24 right now) and I can remember those years between ages 17 to 21 where I would try different homemade remedies, minoxidil, propecia, rogaine to grow some hair. It was only when I was 21 and had spent most of my college years hiding my receding hair line under a hat that I decided to shave my head and learn to accept it. Truthfully shaving my head was like winning the lottery because my confidence came back, women became more attracted to me because I was more confident, and I was much more happier with my life. Try shaving your head (not fully at first) and see how it looks then slowly start shaving it more and more. Please don't live the kind of life I had where I would isolate myself from everyone I knew because of my hair loss and spent a fortune buying into gimmicks and prescribed medication that either didn't work or would have caused me to lose all the hair I had gained if I had stopped using the medication. Learn to accept your hair loss and think that you are still healthy and have a better life and opportunity then most people on this planet.

If you have alopecia areata, you just said you have balding in
spots. There is a difference. If you have this there is still hope
because your hair comes out in spots about the size of a
quarter or fifty cent piece, usually caused from a lack of
something you need in your body. This also happens form
certain types of medications. If indeed you have male
pattern baldness you probably need to see a profesional
and be evaluated. You may need to start implants or
work with hair divices. Good luck.

Try Glucosamine Chondroitin complex, double strength. The bottle should have close to or exactly.., 500mg Glucosamine 400mg Chondroitin Buy over the counter - try Walmart for a decent price. Get as large a bottle you can to last you a while (its cheaper that way). Take 3 tablets a day WITH FOOD. It will not cure Arthritis but should make things more tolerable.. Try it for a full month. Also I would suggest double the dosage for the first two days to kick start your system THEN drop to the dosage on the bottle. WARNING!!! If you are allergic to Shellfish or have a thyroid condition - do not take this product!!! And ask your doctor if this product will effect any of the medicines you are talking.

There is hope for you. Remember herbs can heal almost anything. Check if your iron levels are normal, lack of iron in your blood can cause hair loss. Get a simple blood test, before putting any product on your head. Always stick with the herbal solution first. Shop at a health food store they should have a natural shampoo for your problem.

OK, remember it is all in the GEANS! My husband had the same what I call fate and it bothered him for a few years then he realized that because he looked more mature he got jobs earlier in life than his peers did. Now a high ranked(because he got an ealier start). And a wife who loves him without hair. He is one happy man. Last of all NOT LEAST nature has a way of compensating in other areas! If you know what I mean!
Good Luck!

Bald men are sexy. But I didn't know there was an age limit for Rogaine. You may want to check into that again.
