This guy I've known at work for about a year. We've been semi friends. He's married and has no interest and I have no interest in him. My boyfriend and I had just broken up and I was feeling really down on myself. I was crying. He told me not to worry he said he's always thought I was hot. Now don't say this because you think he wants to sleep with me because I swear to you this is not the case. What I'm asking is would you stretch the truth that much if you didn't think she was attractive. I mean would you at least think she's cute if you told her she was hot? And no I don't want him. I just want to know if you think he meant what he said?

It doesn't matter either way, he said what he did and you can't change that; nor does it really matter --- unless you are trying to shift the direction of the "friendship"--- why else are you stressing over what he meant?
Leave things alone or find a friend who isn't married.

He might have said it to just to make you feel better, but a boost of confidence never hurt anyone, and maybe he wants to be better friends with you
