Because the French and Indians fought together aainst the British. Back then , and even now, the had problems deciding what to call a really good war. At the time there were many names for it, "French & Indian" was the one that stuck.

maybe beacuse at those days the british ruled then indian crountry so maybe the british army sent the indian solider to fight and die on the field.
