You could have the kids display some kind of famiy tree, it's both cute and comical if done with their own imagination.

A small musical number dedicated to the grandparents, with children on triangles, tamborines, drums etc (percussion)

You could research what kind of things the older generation did when they went to school and have the children do that.

You could find a copy of the "official Grandparents day song" and have the kids learn that or alter it into a poem/rhyme
Lyrics
Chorus:
Oh Grandma, Grandpa, you know that I love you
I love all those little things that you say and do
A walk through the park, a trip to the zoo
Oh Grandma, Grandpa I love you

Verse One:
Going to a ball game, fishing on the lake
Eating Grandma’s cookies, boy they sure taste great
Going to the circus when it comes to town
Eating cotton candy and laughing at the clowns

Chorus:
Oh Grandma, Grandpa, you know that I love you
I love all those little things that you say and do
A hug and a kiss, a ride home from school
Oh Grandma, Grandpa I love you

Verse Two:
Spending time together, talking on the phone
Happy birthday presents, chocolate ice cream cones
Photographs and memories, picnics and parades
Saying that you love me in so many ways

Chorus:
Oh Grandma, Grandpa, you know that I love you
I love all those little things that you say and do
The stories you tell, things I never knew
Oh Grandma, Grandpa I love you
Oh Grandma, Grandpa I love you – I love you – I love you

Have the children draw/colour portraits of the grandparents to present to them on the day.

They could award their grandparents awards eg. "best grandma/grandpa in the world".

good luck and I hope you all have a great day.

chair ,for a little nap. Wake up ,wake up Grandma,I am on my way
we can bake some cookies ,for our snack today, I'll mix in the kisses you put in the hugs ,we'll both put in some patience ,that's what we've plenty of.now put them in the oven until there golden brown ,and then we'll have a cup milk to wash those cookies
down (hope that will help -4:19am

Picture book titled "Our Granny" by Margeret Wild and illustrated by Julie Vivas.
Celebrates the diversities of grandmothers, with a moral of equality regardless of the characteristics our granny's display--great fun!
i have used this is my prep/one class successfully many times.

Have each of the kids make a picture frame with popsicle sticks. You could premake the frames with hot glue at home and let the kids decorate them at school.
