first.. restaurant.. standard service is 15% good service - 20% superior service.. i have tipped in excess of 3 times the cost of the original meal if the server did something above and beyond.

Barber - 2 bucks. sometimes three.

Nails- no clue. but i would go with 2 bucks.

also.. i TIP AT A BUFFET. those people who fill your drinks and take away the plates deserve SOMETHING. usually I tip 1-2 bucks here.

Cabbie - 2-3 bucks for a drive - 5 bucks if loaded luggage, held door etc.

bellhop - 5 bucks (or more)

basically.. i tip for nearly everything service oriented. I have tipped kids at mcdonalds for stuff like grabbing my tray if im sitting there before i can get up.

they never spit in MY food.

For me it is a standard 15% of the bill before taxes and 20% if I find the service was really excellent.

Anywhere from $2-10 depending on what you're getting done:

Nails- $2

Hair cut- $3

Restaurant- $4+ depending on how many people
the waiter/waitress served.

at least 15 -20% of the receipt also if the service is better than you expected i give a little more it all depends who takes care of me.

I use 15% as a baseline. If the service sucks, i give less than 15%. If it exceeded my expectations, I give more than 15%.

for a restaurant it should be 20% of what your meal cost, not sure about the others

$5 MINIMUM. Period. Most of those people only make $2.13 an hour (the minimum wage for people in positions that get tips).
