It is a much more humbling thought to know that we all evolved from a single instance. That all life on this planet is made of basicly the same stuff. And given the 4 billion years evolution had to do it's work, is where you get the diversity of life we see today.

If you believe in God, wouldn't evolution then be the work of God? Why does it seems impossible for most that that is not how life arose and evolved. Which is why religion can sometimes blind it's believers from truths revealed to us by Science.

I was hoping for an honest answer so I could understand why they have such a problem with it. But instead there is just the same old lies and misinformation about evolution 'isn't true because...lie'

I think "sunman" came closest to an honest answer though.

First of all, evolution isn't even a science, it's a belief system. If you believe what scientist tell us, billions and billions of years ago, life started from inorganic matter. The first multicell life forms were plants. 100's of millions of years later, animal life formed. But there's a problem with this theory. Plants need carbon dioxide to live. They take in the carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. Animals need oxygen to live. They take in the oxygen, and give off carbon dioxide. If you take away either group, the other one can't survive, hence, the 100's of millions of years of plant life before animal life couldn't have occurred.

Because evolution is strongly associated with Darwin. He implied that creation was an accident. He believed Nature was in competition with itself, when in fact the larger picture was that Nature is in cooperation with itself. Otherwise evolution has much going for it.

no evidence - you cannot say something is fact without supporting it with facts- there are no facts (solid facts) that support evolution. there are things out there to lead people to believe it IF they shut out all the other options possible by those facts AND shut out all the things that contradict the theories behind evolution, but nothing to solidly show that evolution is a plausible theory.
