I have had this problem myself.
The number one suggestion I have heard is to learn how to deep breathing meditation. For some reason, this can help retrain your brain to slow down and relax and actually feel better.
First go to a quiet place and be alone for at least 10 minutes.
While you breathe for a count of 10, look at your chest rise.
While you hold your breath for a count of 10, just relax and put your mind on your breathing.
While you breathe out for a count of 10, watch your chest lower back down.
Repeat these steps for a total of about 10 minutes.
The act of controlled breathing is known in Buddhism as anapana. Read the article at Wikipedia on this topic. It gives more info and hope this really helps you.

i have severe anxiety with swallowing food becuase of a physical health problem, and i also have social phobia and i get anxious while driving because i feel like im not in control. I take klonopin and it eases all the anxiety and i forget to worry. Id try something stronger, I took Xanax and Triliptol, but my Anxiety was so severe to the point i developed Maliase and actual vommiting so i switched to a stronger pill, and within 2weeks of Klonopin it didnt come back.

Taking medicine sometimes doesn't help one of the best ways that I have tried is working out every day .but there r some other alternatives take a brisk walk every day for about 20 minutes . drink vitamin C . take some music classes make yourself interested ina musical instrument and try to be good at it. dancing also helps.think about now try your utmost now in order to insure the days that haven't come yet. and build them in a way that u wish.and don't forget that you r not alone a lot of people suffer from what u suffer.

Anxiety is a learned condition that becomes, simply put, a bad habit the brain subconsciously follows.
You need relaxation exercises, visualization and self-hypnosis to retrain your mind into a calmer state. Drugs don't cure, only mask.

Your doctor should also send you to a counselor to help you talk through what is really bothering you. The medication will help but will not cure, you need to identify what is actually causing your anxiety. Treat the problem not just the symptoms.

I would have anxiety attacks alot int the past, but now I rarely have them.they seem to be undercontroll now.I didnt take meds for them because I wanted to overcome them myself. What I did was found someone just like me who suffered from the same thing. And when I found out that they felt the same and did the same things I did,I felt a whole lot better. And also I controlled them better just knowing that I wasnt alone on this. Then when I would feel one comin on I would just breath.Take deep breaths and tell myself "everythings gonna be alright" and "theres know need to worry".I knew I couldnt change certain things I would worry about so I would relax and think"if I cant change ti then I dont need to worry"..After all that I dont have them anymore.Weird huh?but u can do it without meds.good luck and God Bless. Also pray and everything will be just fine.
