Tomato sauce. Swear to god, my son will eat ANYTHING that has tomato sauce on it. It's best to find one that doesn't have artificial colours or flavours, and if your kid is sensitive to food you might have to find an organic one or something.

My 2-year old daughter wouldn't eat any meat for the longest time. From the time she was 12 months until she was about 22 months, I couldn't get her to eat meat. She still doesn't like hamburger (she loves hamburger helper, but eats just the pasta, not the hamburger), but I've gotten her to eat chicken in the past two months.
It's not a big deal. Maybe your child just doesn't like the taste of meat. Has your child given you any reason why s/he won't eat meat? At 3 years old, s/he may have enough language to tell you why now. And if not, then just make sure s/he gets enough protein through other sources (milk, eggs, legumes).
My ex-gf has the exact opposite problem with her son. He won't eat vegetables, he only wants chicken nuggets.

Take a deep breath mom or dad, there are many ways to encourage your child to eat meats! Many times young preschoolers become finicky about meats because of the textures and spices we use to cook with. Some children like their meat pureed so the texture of the meat is more easily chewed and eatten like applesauce. Some children only want meats that are on your plate! Many parents are unsure if they want to give their children the same foods we eat, but some only want it the same as yours!
Some children are uncomfortable about the smell of meat especially beefs fowl and porks. Sometimes adding mild spices that your child likes in other things will encourage trying the meat.. Some children only perfer cold meats like ham, chicken or turkey breast or salami. Try cutting into bite sized pieces or even trying those pre packaged meats like lunchables.
You can always go back to the baby food meals or jars that have meat in them too.
If your child is getting protein from peanut butter, various nuts, and veggies, I'm sure he or she will grow and be healthy. Many kids go through phases and this too will pass.
I'm sorry to say, I don't know the source, but i have read about a study that was done about 5 years ago where children were permitted to eat anything they wanted (I wouldn't suggest this), but after 3to 7 days, the children started to choose healthy choices, fruits, veggies, meats and grains.
So give your child some time and I's sure things will work out. If you have concerns about malnouritrition or health, PLEASE contact your pediatrician. Perhaps the doctor can give you other ideas or suggest supliments. Good Luck! Linda

Baked or boiled meat (chicken and turkey, at least) can be ground into a pretty fine powder in a food processor. Then it can be mixed into other things. Does your little one eat mashed vegetables, like potatoes or squash? How about macaroni and cheese? Spaghetti sauce? There are lots of things you can mix ground meat into. If you don't want to be sneaky, research recipes for vegetarians. Many vegetarians are extremely healthy even without meat. Check out what they eat and maybe you'll find something your little one will eat that can give him or her all of the protein and iron necessary. Good luck!

Try some different sauces, maybe a little ketchup or sweet and sour sauce. If they simply will not eat meat, make sure they are getting their protein in other things, like cheese and eggs. Having them help with the cooking or decorating the food with meat and veg's can also help them to eat something that they created. Good luck.

Make sauces with a lean mince add diced vegies to it too. It will give her the iron she needs. Or make meat balls. Dont overfeed her with processed meats. If your making her red meat thats too tough try marinating it in worshtershire sauce before hand to make it tender. Sprinkle the meat with some dried herbs just after cooking. Its all about quality a,taste and presentation. Good luck.

I am facing the same problem- the nutritonalist at the WIC center told me to offer finger foods as some entergetic children will eat on the run so to speak or another option that works great..if your child will not eat at dinner time calmly tell him/her that there will be no snack later and they will not have a chance to eat again until the next meal. Good Luck

not to worry meat is not necessary as long as it eats other forms of protien eggs for example but if you insits on him/her eating meat why not try cutting them into fun shapes like meatball and use ketchup to draw lines on it to make a baseball or cut a smiley face in a ham steak just some ideas you get the hint

my 3 yr old doesnt eat meat either well hardly ever.she loves veggies way more than meat anyways but what i do is get her some of those little cup dinners in the soup and can spedgetti isle.they have stuff like chicken dumplins, spedgetti with mini meat balls, mini ravoli, chicken rice and veggies, chicken noodle soup(dora and danny phantom cans only ones she will eat)...ect as long as the meat is real small and looks like theres more of other stuff in it than meat she will eat it.when i cook she will just nick pick at her meat and eat like 2 or 3 bites and thats it so i get her those little cup dinners for her cause she will eat those.so try to mixed little tiny bits of meat in with their favorite veggies and most likely they will eat it if they dont noticed the meat mixed in with it.if they do ask their dr what can you do to get them to eat meat and see what kind of ideas the dr has.

If your child is eating fruits, vegetables, grains and dairy, I think he/she will be fine. In time, meat may be appealing. Vegetarians don't eat meat so you may have a little Vegetarian on your hands. I wouldn't push it but make mean available to try.
