I was having a bad colitis "flare up" for about a month then I read about probiotics. Did some more research and found out that Dannon Activia (yogurt) has probiotics and helps regulate your digestive system. Started taking it Sunday, noticed positive results the next day. Now it's only been a couple of days, but I went to the bathroom about 6 times on Suday, and it was all diarrhea. I had 2 normal stools Tuesday. ( I hope that wasn't too much info)

I just wanted to let my fellow sufferers know about this. I have been eating 2 a day. An 8 pack costs about $4. I have also been eating other yogurt. Supposedly the culures are good for you.

Best of luck to us all. Hopefully there is a cure soon. May God Bless us.

Restoring proper intestinal flora to a diseased colon can definitely help, although I'd consider it more an adjunct to conventional therapy than a replacement.
In addition to the Dannon you mentioned, Culturelle and VSL-3 are also effective.

My husband and my mother also suffer from IBS and colitis. Thanks for the info...I will pass it along to them. I hope you continue to feel better.
