I think Feria has a shade called 'black cherry' or 'chocolate cherry'. In any case, I think you should go for a colour that looks black in the regular lamp light (like you said) but picks up a reddish tone that glistens only in the sun.
Best of luck.

Why bother if nobody will notice? You will damage your hair for nothing!
Try something temporary. Look for something that will wash out in a few shampooos or go to a salon and get a cellophane, they add great shine and color but wash out eventually and dont damage the hair.
You can really screw up your hair by coloring yourself. believe me, it costs a lot more to get it fixed later and also your hair will pay the price, Save up and go to a good salon for color changes. Good luck!

I can see where you're going with this =) I have black hair too and thought about this before as I still wanted to keep that black-ish color. Maybe a few streaks of really, really, really, really, dark blue that you hardly notice (no where near regular blue XD I find thouse awkward). I'd go with straight hair on that. For wavy-ish/curly-ish, probably super dark red. Either way, I'm still going with streaks =)

use semi permanent color. if your hair is really dark, it won't be too noticeable. but if you use a reddish tone, it will show up in the sunlight.
and it will wash out after about a month.

Check out ivillage. They have a virtual make-over so you can download your pic and see what you would look like with different hair colors before you dye it.

Well now, you already have natural black / how much darker can you go? How about trying that new Glazing stuff they are coming out with- it sort of adds a glimmer, you might like that.

Why not add a mocha brown-low lights to your hair. That would look good.
