Depression can be the most tormenting thing ever. I know.

Antidepressants DO help, but unfortunately, in severe depression they can't do it all. However, it is important you take them.

There are probably other underlying reasons for your depression that you really need to talk through with a trained counsellor.

Your depression will ease, but I know that doesn't help saying that now. At the times when you feel in total hell, hold on, accept the bad feelings though this is extremely hard, take your medication and bide your time. Severe depression is one of the crappiest things possible and very cruel but it WILL end.

You are strong because you are still here even though the suffering is agonizing. Keep telling yourself this.

Please seek professional help and tell them how totally awful you are feeling. Tell them you feel suicidal. Take someone you trust with you and don't be fobbed off.

I have come through mine and wouldn't wish it on anyone, YOU WILL COME THROUGH TOO - you really will. Take care.

Betty, I really understand your pain. You need to talk to your doctor and tell him/her what you are feeling. In my experience with depression, it stems from anxiety. You need to figure out what you are feeling anxious about. Please know that even though, you feel there is no hope, THERE IS HOPE!!! You are loved by God and his son, Jesus Christ came as a man on this earth to take all the hurt and pain and sin on himself and he crucified it on the cross! "God made Him, who knew no sin to be sin for us, that in Him, we might become the righteousness of God" This is found in 2 Corinthians 5:21. The Bible is God's truth! God sees you in your pain and loves and cares for you. Cry out to Him! I pray that you will find God's love and truth for you! There is an amazing book based on what Christ accomplished for us on the cross. It is called The Bondage Breaker by Neil Anderson. I would recommend reading it. Also, fill your mind with good thoughts! Another good book is Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer. Trust in God and He will give you the help you need! It may not be immediate but He is faithful!

Funny I read this. I know where you are; I'm there also. I'm going back to my medication manager stop minimising my symptoms.

I went off antidepressants for almost 4 years for economic reasons. Not sure how I survived, but I am not staying off them again.

If you'd be AWARE while feeling bad, it might help... and I realize it sounds counter-intuitive...

but accepting whatsoever arises... going along and flowing with life... suffering will lessen
