Lack of zinc. Try zinc supplements. And he probably needs an all-round mineral supplement too. Remember to take any supplements WITH meals and with plenty of liquids.

Too much recreational masturbation (also causes vision problems)
Sports injuries

Diet
Sexually transmitted diseases

There are two primary disorders that affect the male reproductive external organs. These include penis disorders and testicular disorders. Disorders of the penis and testes can affect a man's sexual functioning and fertility. Some of the more common conditions that affect the testes include testicular trauma, testicular torsion (cut in blood flow), testicular cancer, epididymitis(inflammation of the epididymis), and hypogonadism (low functioning gonads).
Some previous studies had suggested that chewing tobacco negatively impacts sperm concentration, movement and appearance, but other studies had found no link. So the theory remains controversial.
Also, I heard that smoking marijuana and wearing briefs that are too tight can temporarily affect your sperm. Take a look at the links below for more info...
