This is the reason people are UPSET. Illegal aliens are over running our schools. Over running our hospitals, social services, trying to change the LANGAUAGE of our country because they won't assimilate and accept ENLGISH. This is WRONG!A guest worker program is RIDIDICUOUS. Their meager wages, legal or not will NOT pay for what they are getting for "free" here. ILLEGALS are making out like bandits on LEGAL TAX PAYERS. If people can't come here LEGALLY and respect our LAWS - that ALONE should make people NOT want them here - thumbing their noses at our LAWS is not a good sign. It devalues our EXISTING IMMIGRATION LAWS that need to be ENFORCED NOW. There is NO NEED TO CHANGE LAWS. ENDFORCE and add other laws to make sure people, whoever they are, come here LEGALLY and we get LAW ABIDING PEOPLE

Oh they know what it means alright, but they prefer to stick their collective heads in the sand like ostriches and pretend it doesn't refer to them ... and indeed you are right, we have perfectly good immigration laws, there really is no need to tinker with any "comprehensive solution" ... if existing laws had been, and are, enforced, we wouldn't be in this mess ... enforce existing laws now, which means deport all illegals, in accordance with the laws on our statute books!

Instead of shelling out all this money to stop people from coming here, why not go to the source. After all they are not "our" people so why should we have to pay to control it. What the U.S. should do is start holding the country the people are coming from accountible. Countries like Mexico could be crippled without our economy buying there goods so I suggest imposing embargos and stop trade with these countries until they get THEIR problem under control. What has Mexico done to stop this? Have they done ANYTHING? The only problem with this is making sure they solve the problem humanely, otherwise it would create a whole new set of problems.

This question illustrates the whole problem -- if you come to America legally, then you understand that it is a give-and-take situation where you have to respect the laws of the land and the culture that backs it. If you decide to evade these laws, then anything goes because you don't believe that you owe anyone anything.
I suspect that most illegals are just waiting for another amnesty, like in 2001 (I think that was the last one) where we graciously decide that "anyone here who files before "X" date can bypass the requirement to request citizenship before coming here"... perhaps we're the idiots for setting up this precedent.

Uh!? Yeah, but unfortunately....They come from a land of lawless peoples who have no regard for the rule of law, therefore are poor candidates for citizenship in ANY civilized nation.
Allowing persons of such low moral character and disposition will inevitably transform this country into a lesser country.

well ... people look for a way to survive and a place to live ...and as far as what is strictly legal ... laws were made to serve people not opress them right? there are no valid arguments to opress people ... get ur frickin fence built and move on with your life ... maybe get an education so you actually have somthing to say and can contribute somthing to america to fix a problem that could change things for the better for all ... i know thats a tall order for ignorant people though so dont strain yourself ... i know its alot easier to just blame your pathetic existance on someone else than take responsibility for it yourself .. but try k?
