Get a degree in a social program ie: criminology, social sciences etc. While doing this degree, volunteer somewhere and try to get a security job or join the army reserves (only if in canada so you dont get shipped off to iraq). Then when you're done your studies apply to police acadamy, become a cop, do a great job and apply for narcotics position within the po-lice.

Forensics, sociology, psychology, police science - - those are just a few courses you'd need to study. I'm going to be a police officer one day, and after that I'd like to go into detective/narcotics/ice work.

It's also a plus if you've had some experience in that kind of field (dealing with those kinds of people, observing) You could go to your local police department and ask them if you could go with them for a day on patrol - you'd get to see a lot of how the system works and what they do. It's quite fun!

When you pick a college you'd like to go to - sit down with a counselor and tell them what your career plans are. They'll give you the list of general education classes you should take before you go onto the subjects I listed above.
