I am not in favor of shooting a Bigfoot except in self defense and truthfully I think it should be protected. A Mormon friend assures me that Bigfoot is Cain (Abel's brother from the Old Testament) and his kin.

I think it may be a yet unidentified species of North American ape but IF it did turn out to be Cain, then the shooter would be in big trouble. He would not only be guilty of murder, but he would be cursed seven times. For God said, if anyone kills Cain, Cain will be avenged sevenfold and God Himself marked Cain so that no one would kill him (Old Testament Book of Genesis).

Would he be a hero for bringing in concrete proof of Bigfoot's existence? Proof of Bigfoot's existence would have some scientific/historical significance but a hero, I don't think so.

Would he be jailed? Perhaps, especially if Bigfoot turned out to be human say for example, an old hermit living out there by himself. I'd leave it alone. A hunter should always be sure of his target; mistakes are unacceptable.

Maybe not a hero, but certainly famous for 15 minutes. From what I've seen (grainy pictures), I think bigfoot could be mistaken for a bear. Just make sure it isn't the guy in a bigfoot suit trying to scare his friends.
