Excuse yourself, and spare your party the details. "ladies room" is enough of an explanation. If anyone (men) stands, smile politely, and count yourself lucky to know such a well-bred gentleman.

1. Would you excuse me for a moment? I'll be right back.

2. It's customary for a gentleman to stand when a lady gets up or is seated at the dinner table. You don't have to do anything but smile and nod.

I don't think that this custom is outdated at all. But the only men who seem to do this anymore are either older, upper class, trained in international business etiquette, from the American South, or in the military. God bless'em all.

Excuse me, I will be right back, they will know where you are going it should be common sense for most. No need to announce you are going to the restroom. and if they stand good, just go, if not oh well. Some people these days do not have manners. so many will not stand.

Just say "excuse me" the people you are dining with are probably smart enough to figure out where you are going

No they shouldn't stand up when you leave, the should only stand up when you first arrive to the table after you entered the restaurant

Excuse yourself and try to hold the fart in until you hit the restroom. It's really bad etiquette to make the other guests gag at the table.

say excuse me, I'll be right back...... and leave. no need to explain where you're going most people dont want to hear that you have to pee...
As far as people standing up when someone leaves... I feel its a little much! I'm a much more discreet person and I'd rather do things with as little fuss as possible!!

Just say "excuse me, for a moment."
If someone (men only should stand when a lady leaves or returns to the table) stands up, just smile and silently marvel at how some shred of chivalry still survives.

Excuse me, I'll be right back should suffice. Most people will assume you are going to the rest room. I don't think standing up would be required.

"Excuse me. I'll be right back." And no I don't think people should get up. That just draws attention to the one leaving the table. And that person probably doesn't want the attention drawn to him.

Excuse me, I'll be right back. Way back when, a gentlemen would stand as a lady walked away. I haven't seen one do this in years. He'd also stand when she came back so he could push her chair in for her.
