Why is the completion of a postsecondary program important?

There is an increasing trend of jobs requiring a college education or degree. In the United States, you could find a good paying factory job without a high school diploma. Now, the factory jobs are decreasing. Even some secretarial or executive assistant jobs require some college background when at one time you could get a job with a high school diploma 30 years ago.
