Just received in email, after all these months, and the fact she got $250,000 from the military, she has yet to get a headstone for her son's grave. She has been so busy crying "look at me" that she hasn't even asked the DOD for a free headstone.

She did not get $250,000 from the military; that is not the death benefit for someone killed in combat. If you had checked the web you would have seen that the death benefit is $100,000 and goes to the person or persons listed as beneficiaries by the serviceman.
People lie all of the time on the internet, yet no one bothers to check facts. And how do you know she has not purchased a headstone? According to news reports, the family has purchased and installed one on his grave. Some of the problem may have been conflict between the husband and wife, who were going through divorce, also many families hold off putting stones up because they don't want to accept the death and the stone is a final marker of that fact.
There was a big story that she did not even raise her son, that her exhusband did, but this is not true, she and her husband divorced in 2005 after 28 years of marriage.
I don't condone all of her actions, some border on paranoia and she has slipped too deep into her cause--even criticizing the Rita coverage as just a little wind and water.

She is the most selfish woman..,she has 3 other children and they have disassociated themselves from her and her husband has divorced her,that right there shows she doesnt care about anyone but Cindy Shehan.What a mother huh?She shouldnt be allowed to breed anymore.God Bless her son for being a brave hero.

I do not think she hates her son at all Were is this proof that her son has no headstone! I don't like her views and how she feels its her duty to speak for all parents who lost sons and daughters in this war! Most disagree with her and her views. Whats so great about this country is anyone can volunteer for the military! Just has her son did! No one forced him to do it! She should be proud of her son and stop using his death as a political motivation for someone else. Shes a TOOL that's it!

Why do you assume what or how she feels? Is it because your son has been killed? Is because some people can't wait to tell others how they 'should' react to a life changing event? I would hope that she loves her son in her own way.
I am not in her position , so to each his own. Personally, I would rather spend my time speaking out at this horror that our Government has foisted on us; in the hope that it would end and there would be no need for us to criticize it's victims.

Who knows why......She's a LIBERAL.....LIBERALS always have issues! I don't think she hates her son, but I do think she has unresolved issues that she has projected on others instead of herself.
Classic "blame game liberal tactics." Eventually, she'll come to terms with the fact that she was a lousy mom......Her son died defending his nation. She evidently has a big problem with that.

I,m sure she loved her son and President Bush did meet with her after her son died but the sad thing is the anti war left got to her and are using her as a political pawn which to me is pretty sorry.
