I've been having trouble sleeping lately. I used to be able to conk out and sleep like a rock... But everytime I want to sleep I can't seem to go to bed. Insomnia is really a chore.. I'm just wondering if anyone here can give me some advice... basically natural remedies, because I'm not the type that wants to be dependent on a pill to sleep.

I had been really sick for the past two weeks and hadn't exercised at all. Didn't even think of it. I had a lot of... well, I got lucky for the past two days so hopefully that'll help with the exercise thing. I really appreciate the answers so far. Thanks.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

I have heard of this happening before, so you're not alone. I was a pot smoker for many years and started to get insane panics, so I stopped the pot and the panic attacks lasted about a year on and off. Now I will get one every 6 months or so. Never had a problem before the pot. I know it might not help right now but just remember when you are having a panic attack that it's just your mind playing a trick on you and you're in no real danger. I hope that once you give it time they will start to go away. You should know this now but NEVER do LSD or any other hallucinogens again and stay off pot, at least until this thing resolves itself. If you feel alone go to Google and type in "panic attacks after doing LSD" there is a wealth of information there and a lot of people in the same situation. Best of luck

I always have that problem, I'm a night owl. Sometimes I can't crash til the sun is up - I guess I should work nights. All in all I need 7 hours of sleep, if I must get up at a certain time it's to the point I need a pill to crash - I just use something OTC. All in all I wish I could have a regular schedule like most people.
Check with your doc or pharmacist. It would depend on if you use any other meds, your health, age, etc.

Non-medical advice:
1. Exercise - a long walk will help - lots of sweat even better
2. Caffine - avoid it before bed
3. Breathing - close your eyes and don't concentrate on your problems (like not being able to sleep!) and monitor your breathing.
See a doctor if you can't find a solution soon.

Step 1-Get off Answers.
Step 2 - Count 100 very slow deep breaths - I rarely get past 20. Do not think of anything else whilst doing this.
Step 3 - Do some excerecise early in the morning, before work, this really helps sleep at night - go for a walk for example.

A good thing to do, if you haven't tried it already, is to make sure you are getting some exercise (at least 20 minutes a day), you can try reading/meditating at least 30 minutes before you want to fall asleep and if that doesn't work try valerian, or a mixture of herbal sedatives in a capsule 30 minutes before bed.

Exercise is good for that, but when I can't sleep, I take a nice bath or read something. Reading puts me to sleep or at least gets me really drowsy. Try reading in bed.

A long with some other things I am doing I went out and bought same chamomile tea. It is supposed to calm you down at night time.
I am also sorry to say, but have to cut back on my favorite drink of all times, coffee. You may want to try this?
Also is there anything you started eating lately? You may want to think this over. If there is something try cutting it out of your routine for right now......
Good luck!

Melatonin pills. they are found in the vitamin section. They work great. you dont feel goofy like with tylenol PM. Plus, they are more natural than other things for sleep.
Cut out caffiene after 3 pm. Dont exercise too late. it keeps the mind awake. Grab a book and TURN OFF THE TV. thats what keeps me up.

Valerian - a natural root that can be found at any organic food store and in some drug stores/herbal section. It is great for getting to sleep and is not at all addictive - although it is a little stinky! :) Good luck! Sleep well soon!
