Actually, no hunter (carnivore) can do that because for us and other carnivores the field of view in front of us is more important than the sides. Herbivores can do that because the need a larger field of view so that they can be on constant watch while grazing.

I think it's because you have something to focus and concentrate on; the nose. There's nothing to strain your eyes to focus or concentrate on in the opposite directions...unless you have really big ears. It could also be the limitations of the range of motion of your eye muscles.

I actually know a guy that can do it, so it's not impossible. However, it DOES look pretty freaky.
