HOWCOME PEOPLE EAT OUT ALL THE TIME, LIKE BUSINESS PEOPLE AND THEIR COLLEAGUES (LIKE EVERYDAY @ LUNCH)........I'M SURE THAT THEY GO OVER THEIR INTAKE>>>>>BUT THEY'R NOT FAT!! THEY HAVE LIKE MARINATED MEATS(not heaping portions, too!) (LIKE IN SWEET N' SOUR SAUCE, FRIED RICE, GREASY ENCHILADAS---you know those types of foods @ restaraunts!)
what's up with this?? someone PLEASE TELL ME. these people don't work out...so they cannot possibly have a fast metabolism. i kinda doubt that the fast metabolism is "in their blood" either. their parents are overweight.

It depends on your body size and the amount of calories you use in a day. Times your weight by 13 and you will have a good estimate of how many calories you use in a day, if you add 3500 to that you will gain a pound. It adds up day to day also, so if you just eat 100 cals. a day over you will gain 1 pound every 3 months. It is a sad fact of life the bigger you are the more you can eat and stay the same size. I hope this helps clear things up.

Umm...I'm sorry...but how exactly do you know that they don't work out? You don't know all of those people and have no idea what their level of activity is, nor for that matter what their metabolism is, so you are making a very broad blanket judgment.

I personally know many business people who do in fact workout regularly and are very aware of their health or have kids that they are active with or various other outdoors activities that they are involved with on a regular basis.

Most people can burn off some excess calories just through body heat.
And there are overweight business people...but I'm sure many supplement their eating with time at the gym.

I think a pound equals about 5000 calories.
