DON'T CHANGE IT!! It's NOT healed yet. You may think it is but it can take months no matter how it looks or feels. Leave in what you have and unless you have piercing pliers, don't remove it yourself. Go to a piercer. If you have your own new ring he or she will remove the old one and put the new one in for you. You may not like the r ing you have now but I'm sure you wouldn't like a big bubble of skin around your piercing. until you're very experienced with your new piercing, dn't mess with it and leave it to professionals. It may seem like a simple thing to take care of but believe me, they can require a lot of care. Be smart with your new piercing. If you need advice, I have A LOT of piercings. Feel free to email me

Although I haven't heard of a "beard barbell" it can only be one of a few things. Is it a circular barbell with 2 balls sealing off the ends (one of the balls would then screw off but strange choice for a nostril piercing)? Or is it a BCR or "ball closure ring"? I'm thinking that's what it is if it's not a stud looking thing with a fishtail type thing on the end (which are also bloody hard to get in & out yourself). A thin guage ring should be easy to open out enough for the ball to fall out but they can be tight & you can hurt your nose worse. I would really go back to the piercing place you got it done at & they should be able to change it with you & show you how to in furture yourself as it is important to know how to do it as I found out when I needed an x-ray & had to take to the ring with some scissors (you put the closed scissors up into the ring & open them out & that makes the ball drop out). If you get jewellry that are BCRs I highly recommend getting a cheap pair of the reverse pliers or surclips (ask the person at the hardware store, where pliers close when you squeeze them surclips open). Make the job a whole lot easier - it just takes a heap of practice. Good luck :)

You have to take a pair of pliars and spread out the hoop. The hoop is just squuezed to the ball. Put the pliars in the middle of the hoop and open them and it will spread the wires and the ball will fall off
