Ok well a couple of weeks ago I found out that a friend of mine was cutting, and and a couple of my other friends did everything to help her... We told her mom, we told both of the counclers in our school (one was told on accident when a teacher overheard us talking about getting her help), but when my life became overwelmingly stressful I began to cut. Does it make me a hypocrite if I do everything to help her but do nothing to help me, I mean no one knows that I cut. I just want to know.

Thanks for all of your advice but when did I ask for advice on MY cutting? I asked if that made me a hipocryte or not, not if cutting was a big deal. I didn't need that.
btw I got help today so don't worry.

no, it doesn't make you a hypocrite, it just means that you don't want your friend to be in this situation, even though you do it too. but please, as a former cutter myself, i beg you to stop. I know right now its seems harmless, the scars will heal...but its highly addictive and very dangerous. I got addicted instantly and it took me years to stop, and to this day i still get urges to cut. Not only that, but when you cut for a long time you get used to it and it no longer satisfies you...you need something more...so you cut deeper. i don't know how to explain it, its like even though you tell yourself to put the blade down, something comes over you and you cut....too deep. You can die from this. There are other ways to deal with the stress. What i do is wear a rubber band around my wrist and whenever i feel angry i snap it. it stings and if you do it hard enough its actually better than cutting.

u r not a hypo crate, u just are a helpful person, who goes out of the way to help others.
It appears that u r feeling lonely or left out!!!
Calm down, make ur presence be felt to everyone. Whatever work u do should be unique, unique style or unique method or something different. Try to be confident. u cannot force anyone to help you, but definitely, u can present ur self in a better manner, so people come to help you.

youre not a hypocrite. I think you are subconciously asking for help yourself. The best thing to do is tell someone close to you. Its good, very good that you are helping your friend, but you obviously need help yourself. At least you realize that what you are doing is wrong and isnt the answer. Ask for help

Yes and since you were so concerned for your friend dont you think she would be concerned for you. Let her know whats going on or talk to someone at school. You need some intervention.

there's books you could read (not to help you decide if you are a hypocrite, more to help you decide hoe you feel about what's going on inside yourself)
Cut by Patricia McCormick (one of the most famous)
checkers by john marsden
skin game (i forget the author, go look on amazon)
and there's oh-so-many more...
trust me. they don't give you answers but sometiems that's not really what you need anyway...

No. It means you are a good person, to help your friend like that. Sometimes we can't help ourselves, and we need the help of other people, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Will you ask someone to help you? You deserve to be helped, so will you ask someone, because if they don't know you need help, they can't try to help YOU. like you did for your friend.
