you ought to take some obedience training ASAP. As you mentioned which you "command" that he stop barking yet he ignores you and keeps to do regardless of he needs. i admire clicker-education so i might learn training close to you. Or use this internet site to get your self began. He sounds as though he's the two alert-barking (warning you of travelers) yet then additionally barking from worry? So, some education training will enhance his self belief. additionally - you ought to cue a "stable" habit which you particularly want from him on each and every occasion the door bell rings or there's a knock. case in point -- he see the tenants and barks - perhaps you coach him that as quickly as he sees the tenants - he needs to return to you and sit down -- he gets a manage. No barking - coming to you for a sit down -- provide him a diverse habit to swap the barking. study those articles! stable success!

My weiny dog does that all the time. It is so annoying. And when I am on the phone. Buy a good barking collar at the pet store....it will depend on how long your dog has been barking when the doorbell rings...how old is your dog? Remember, you CAN always teach an old dog new tricks.

I put my dogs in a seperate room that is a little ways away from the door. Or put them outside if you got a backyard. I really never solved this problem myself, but these ideas seem to work.

If you can afford it take them to a trainingsession . Check in your local phonebook and they will be able to train them the right way .
On the other side they let anybody know if they are coming to the house : Hey be careful we are here!!Or if they know the person they are happy to see them .
