I notice a lot of guys are judemental when it comes to their standards in women, yet I see a lot of these types of guys, looking heavy in the middle and sloppy. No one is perfect but WTF!!? Women have to be almost perfect, but men dont have to do any work? Thats not fair! Expecially when I can find anything wrong with any guy if I tried to find something hard enough. What gives some men the right? Notice I said the word SOME. LOL

Thank you very much. I swear, I am tired of trying to be perfect all the time if men aren't going to do the same thing. Seriously! They should appreciate us woman whether we are obese, chunky, think, fit , or not!

It goes along the same lines as women being sluts for sleeping around but men can do the same, and arent looked down upon at all.
To answer your question, I believe that even today, women are seen as mostly (if not only) sexual objects. Look at the amount of pornographic material that there is that features women. A lot less features men. Most women look past the exterior and focus more on WHO a person is than what they look like. Even women help to make this world more sexist and chauvinistic by putting themselves out there like that.
Bottom line, women care whats inside, and most men only care about what is outside.

My opinion is:
(Some) Men are looking for "Arm Candy Women" to make themselves look good to the other guys. And (Some) of the "Arm Candy Women" are looking for the men with the fattest wallet, even if the man is big or sloppy. Different needs for different people. What gives them the right, you asked. Simple, just because they can!

Well the problem lies with the women who would just settle for these ranky, sloppy men. Women are failing to realize that there are more men than those judgemental ones. I think if we up our standards on men (and refuse to settle) then the guys will pull themselves together.

The sad truth is that men aren't judged on their appearance the way that women are -- and not just by men. Be honest, you notice how other women look (especially as compared to you).
OTOH, men have their own problems. You know why we obsess about cars and other status symbols? Because women are just as harsh when it comes to judging men based on that stuff.
The bottom line is that the mating game works like this; men are judged on their ability as providers (which boils down to wealth and status) while women are judged on their fertility (which is indicated mainly by physical appearance). Contrary to what many believe, men do not have it easier. We just have a different set of problems.

First, are you sure the pressure is from guys. Women have a tendency to make looks more of an issue. Media and such do not help the situation.
Also, are you sure there isn't pressure? Some guys let themselves go because they JUST DON'T CARE. Obviously appearance is important to you, but why is it important?
If you are doing it for someone else, stop. Take care of yourself and your weight because you want to; not because of peer, media, etc pressure. You won't worry about what guys think

I can't speak for other men. I want my mate to have strong desire for me, and part of that is maintaining my physique. No woman likes a bloated paunch or sagging pecs, and it is a crime when men allow themselves to deteriorate into old man land, while expecting their mates to maintain hard-body status.
Guys, here is a news flash! If you look like Danny Devito, and your mate starts looking fine all of a sudden, you are in deep doo-doo. Now is a good time to flip some weights and cut those carbs. Don't wait 'till that fine woman of yours runs off with her personal trainer!

Sounds like a bar tender I know his wife was thin then she had twins and she gained 15 pounds and now he calls her fat, The fact is hes got a beer belly. Guy like that are asses and a waste of time.

Its because of competition. Women want THE BEST guy out there so they compete with other girls to get "him." Guys want A girl who likes him and is willing to like him for what he is. Hope you get what am trying to say cuz am implying more than what am just saying.
