Just randomly, I realized yesterday that ITunes wont open. Onthe task bar, it is selected as if it were open, but even when I force quit that little 'selected' triangle is on. When I click on it from anywhere on the computer it wont open at all. I went on the Apple website and there is an article for 'windows' users about this topic, but nothing for mac. By the way I havent downloaded Itunes 7 yet, this is the version just prior to 7. Help! Thank you

Thank you for your answers so far...I forgot to mention, I have already tried restarting the computer and it comes back up with the same problem...Also I can see that the application is still there in both the finder folder and on the task bar at the bottom of the screen. Thanks again!

I would try running Repair Permissions (Applications>Disk Utility).

I would try downloading iTunes 7.0.1 also.

Just FYI, the Mac user boards are here:

It might be ur computer thats the problem when it doesn't open iTunes, make sure in your applications, iTunes is still there, then (if you already did this forget this part) drag iTunes to your dock. Now try clicking on it, it might work, I hope, otherwise, ask an admin about this...

Yes, repair your file permissions. If that doesn't work, trash iTunes and download a new copy and reinstall it.

PCs are ****.
