Go out with him and find out more about him. You might be pleasantly surprised.....is he smart or does he have a great sense of humor? If you only go out with the really cute or cool guys you will be missing out on some wonderful opportunities. He could be "the one" but you will never know if you don't give him a chance. If the date turns out to be a disaster and he turns out to be a total jerk, you have lost nothing more than an evening of your time but will have learned a great deal about how a truly classy person treats others.

It takes a lot of courage to ask someone out - he might not be popular but he might be a nice guy. You don't know unless you give him a chance. (And plus, how would you feel if his buddies dared him to ask you out, the lamest girl in school? You might not be the lamest girl in school, but that's just your opinion, isn't it?) If you're really not interested in going out with him, just tell him that you're just not interested but are really flattered by his invitation. But please please don't have a laugh at his expense with your friends about it - really cruel and uncool.

Hey, don't call him lame. If you don't want to go, then kindly tell decline, but don't squeal in delight telling all your friends about the lame-o who asked you out. Some day you will like someone who doesn't like you back, and you will hope that they treat your feelings and the risk you might have taken asking them with a little kindness.

The fact that you are even considering the date and seeking help in a public forum shows that you are in a way interested in him. Perhaps he has exhibited some positive characteristics? Go out with him, he only asked for a date, he didnt ask you to sleep with him. So, take it easy.

Yeah!! I agree with the others. I am so sorry. Usually girls our age have a tendency to feel bad for the boy and go out with them, but this situation has an exception.

It depends on how you feel about him. If you don't know his personality then try to get to know him better. If he is a complete idiot then politely tell him that you like someone else or pray that he won't take it personally when you tell him your not interested. Hope I helped you out! Good luck girlfriend. I have been there.

Be honest with him, and just say you see him more as a friend than a boyfriend. Be polite about it and just go from there.

Good luck! ^_^

It's better than saying yes or something or never answering and making him wait forever...

Those guys can turn out to be the best of friends. Don't turn away from someone trying to be your friend...do be honest with him however and thank him for thinking of you but tell him you just don't think of him as a boyfriend yet. "Let's be friends".
