We had a "date" online for an extensive chat session and he never showed up! He finally IM's me a week later with some lame excuse...should I forgive him and continue our online liason?

It's not just the fact that he stood you up that night, which is bad enough.
But to wait a WEEK to say something...
He is doing you a favor, though... and showing you just how inconsiderate he can be. (Just imagine how bad he would be 6 months into it).

If he really did give a lame excuse a week later..... then If he didn't show up the first time, he probably won't show up the another time, either. Don't forgive him and don't continue "dating" him, either.. it won't go anywhere
