Breaking up is hard to do and a lot of people are terrible at it. The best way is be honest. Usually this seems extremely harsh to tell someone that you don't like them anymore or whatever but I find that person feels much better to know that you have enough respect for them to tell them the truth. Then they don't have the added hurt of wondering what they did.

A coward's way is to start to act like *** so that the person will eventually break up with you. This is mean because you end up hurting the person's feelings even more. They will realize that you don't like them by the way you're acting but they also see that you don't care enough about them to just tell them how you feel. Plus it compels them to wonder if they did someone wrong and not knowing what's wrong is really painful especially if your boyfriend cares a lot for you.

Just think how you'd feel if the situation were reverse. Would you want this person to tell you honestly in calm manner how they felt or would you rather they grew distant and stop talking to you or worse just started acting like a jerk.

Do you best to tell him what's up and he may not respond well but in the long run both you and he will feel a lot better. And you would have spared him unnecessary heartache.

just tell him how you feel and tell him the truth don't make up any lies of why you wanna break up with him be honest with him and even though you don't wanna be mean to him you will hurt him but time will heal his wounds and he will learn to move on. good luck!

If he's really into you, it will hurt him no matter how you do it. The best way is to be honest. Be nice about it, well as nice as you can be while breaking up. But, honest.

Find a quiet place to talk to him. Don't do it over the phone or through text. Talk to him face-to-face and explain that you don't feel the same way about him anymore.

Blame yourself, or if you're young enough, blame your parents. Say you aren't ready for a serious relationship or that your parents forbid you to have a boyfriend.

by being as honest as possible, without adding anything that will hurt him unneccessarily. for example: if you want to date other people, just say so. but if you already are, you may just want to stick with, "i think we should see other people."

tell him why ur breaking up with him, and just tell him exactly how you fell about him before leaving, like " you were all nice and all, and i like you and all, but things don't work out as i thought it would...." something like that i guess...

tell him in private and be brief, clear and direct. Don't gossip about it to your friends because people start to feel humiliated when they think everyone knows.
