In my opinion, there isn't one fighter today that can compare to the Great Sugar Ray. Ray Robinson had over 200 profesional fights 175 wins he lost 19, he had 6 draws and 2 no contest. He had 108 knockouts. How can any of the "Champions" today compare to this man?
The people that want to compare Floyd Mayweather to Sugar Ray are completely out of their element. Sugar Ray had more knockouts than Floyd has fights, three times more. Sugar Ray conducted himself inside and outside the ring as a true Champion should. Floyd Mayweather not only disgraces the sport with his showboating antics inside the ring he is also a disgrace outside of the ring too, he's a convicted woman beater, he even beat the mother of three of his children Josie Harris.
What current or even three "Champions" records combined could surpass one Sugar Ray Robinson? Ring Magazine, The AP, Sports Writers of America, 35 boxers from the Hall of Fame all voted Sugar Ray the Greates Fighter of all Time. Who could they vote for today? Bernard Hopkins (Joke) Oscar DeLa Hoya (bigger Joke) Floyd Mayweather (disgrace) Marco Antonio Barrera (not in Rays class) Eric Morales (damaged goods) Manny Pacquiao (overrated).
Sugar Ray fought the who's who of boxing, more Hall of Famers than any fighter in history, LaMotta, Zivic, Armstrong, Olson, Fullmer, Basilio, Gavilan and Giardello. These were the very best fighters of his time and this is when Champions were only making a tenth of what "Champions" make today. Floyd Mayweather just turned down 8 million dollars to fight Antonio Margarito, that's six million more than he's getting to face Baldomir. What would Sugar Ray say?
Thanks for the question Gyorzxk's.

There is no one in the same class as the legendary Sugar Ray Robinson fighting today. He could do it all and won 175 fights and against tough competition. I guess the best has to be Mayweather Jr.

Sugar Ray Robinson had each and all the qualifications a boxer would have. He exchange into the main comprehensive fighter. the adult males you pronounced weren't practically as gifted as SRR. i don't understand the different boxer who can throw 4 left hooks in a row as quickly and as effectual as Sugar Ray. PLUS, Robinson exchange into on no account stopped, the sole time the referee supply up the combat exchange into because of the fact he suffered warmth exhaustion. He moved up in weight and alter into triumphing the combat even though it exchange into so warm that they stopped the combat. If it wasn't for the warmth, Sugar would have gained the sunshine heavyweight identify. Sugar Ray Robinson exchange into very practically unstoppable even in his worst days.
