I'm trying to build muscle in my chest, abs, and arms. I know after you work out you need to give your msucles time to rebuild. My question is how long should I wait between workouts?

Weight lifting should be done every other day and work different muscles groups.

I would wait a day before you do the same muscle group again. If you love going to the gym, you can do upper body one day, then lower the next, or do everything, and skip a day.

Also, if you're really interested in building muscle, you may want to look into a method called EDT. Escalating Density Training. Basically, for 10 minutes you do 1 of 3 exercises until you're about to fail. Then you switch to the next exercise. Rotate between the 3 until your 10 minutes are up. It enables you to do WAY more reps then just the standard 3 sets of 12 reps.

I work out 4 days a week, it took me a while to see results, but I also continue to watch what I eat.

Look for results in six months. What's your hurry?
