Ignorance, usually. It's a lot easier to put down a smart *** answer, then a helpful, thoughout response.

I understand where you are comming from. There are many people on here that are just plain nasty. Many jump to conclusions too quickly and believe they know everything about everything when in reality they know only the basics. I answered a question a week ago asking what type of food a owner fed their dog. The quesiton was worded i more of a lecture format with very rude comments throughout it. THey were calling people irresponsible for not purchasing the highest priced dog food or not takign their dogs out every few hours. As far as I know, not everyone can afford the expensive meals all the time and most people work during the day so the dogs prbably have to hold it in for more than 2-3 hours during the day. In my answer i told the person specifically that there were better ways of wording a quesiton and that tact and candor go a long way. Also, instead of insulting people with the "large amount of knowledge they have", they should instead educate and teach people and not make them feel like fools or inadequite.

I'm sorry you felt offended, I read the answers that were posted to your question and I didn't see anything really rude. There was a comment about a fence but I didn't take that as an attack. However, there are very rude people out there then there are people like me, I tend to be blunt and to the point, I don't sugar coat anything I give an answer to a question to the best of my knowledge. So please don't take it to heart. P.S. I have seen this numerous times the correct address is petfinder.org not .com. Good Luck finding a new puppy, I'm sure you will have a great family. Regards KG

Being new to here, I see it to when reading the answers. Some just do if for the points, or just to get your "goat".

I study dog behavior, and my girlfriend has a degree in dog psychology.

All the advice is give is factual, and based on my experience in dealing with dogs.
It just depends on the person who answers.
Don't let this stop you at all - there a several others out there like me that really try to answer your questions whole hearted.

What did you expect? Letting a dog out without a fence or being on lead is irresponsible.

I HATE it when loose dogs come charging at us when we are out walking, it is so bad we no longer go for walks when it is nice out, instead I wait for the cold rainy days. When we do walk I have to carry pepper spray to keep loose dogs away. I don't really know if that roaming dog is friendly, and you have no idea if mine are either.

Sorry if you feel my answer is rude, but I happen to feel it is rude that my walks have been ruined because people can't/won't control their animals.

I think the ones who do that are just trying to get points and get a rise out of people.
I'm guessing a lot of people answering some of the questions don't have the experience of certain situations, but they just hop on with their guesses.
Don't worry...just look at the good advice and ignore the stupid ones. I always go and give the morons that are mean and hateful with stupid answers a thumbs down.

Ha! You want to see rude? You had ONE answer that criticized you mildly - and rightfully so. Dogs are not accessories that you can break out when you feel like it. They are living, breathing creatures who RELY on their owners to keep them safe and fulfill their needs. Allowing a dog to roam at large is not fulfilling your responsiblities as caretaker to this creature (nevermind your obligation to society to keep your animals away from other people's property and persons). To actually think that the best solution to this tragedy is just replacing the dog is selfish enough - but to seek to do so without paying any cost whatsoever? That arrogance is truly shocking.

It takes all kinds to make the world. The good, the bad, and the ugly!

This is the Internet. And Yahoo Answers is a very public place.

You're bound to get your twerps, punks, bitches, sluts, psychos, louts, rednecks, bigots, junkies, trash, and other assorted low life. Sad thing is they're completely ignorant they're that way.

It's too much to expect people to be on their best behaviour in here.

Just deal with it.

PS: Actually I did think that was a bit odd - letting your dog out to roam. In many areas, letting a dog out without it being on a leash and under your control is illegal.

There are "A" holes everywhere you turn now a days. Im sorry you had a bad experience, dont let it keep you from posting questions and answers though, what you know might really help someone else.

Ignore the morons, obviously they cant control themselves and insist on playing "internet tough guys"

I guess you have to learn to ignore some of these people who answer these questions. I've had a couple that really hurt my feelings...because they jumped to conclusions. Most people are sincere, but you will get some "morons". Hang in there and don't let them get to you. Good luck.
