A couple days ago I got caught lying by my fiance. For the past year I have said I do not smoke pot, but I've been going behind her back and getting high every once in a while when she's at work. She found out and said "she can't trust me anymore" and I think she might leave me. I've come forward and accepted blame for my lying and want to be held accountable for my lying. She said she doesn't know if she will ever get over being lied to by me and I think our relationship could over. I am now very depressed b/c I might have messed up the relationship w/ the love of my life. Anyone have any advice? Is there anything more I can do besides apologize, never lie to her again and be held accountable for this?

You are being held accountable. You have proven yourself untrustworthy to her, on a matter she regarded as important. If I were her, I don't see why I would trust you either.

If she does stick with you, the only way you can redeem yourself is with a loooooong track record of never being dishonest with her again. It's simply not possible to regain trust overnight.

Your relationship may very well be over - if that's what she decides, there isn't much you can do about it. If so, the best you can do is to learn your lesson and not make the same mistake with the next person you get involved with.

Sorry I can't give ya better news, but them's the breaks.
